Fundamentals of 2D Studio Arts
Description
Designed for students beginning their study of art on the high school level, 2D Studio Arts will focus on fundamental drawing skills, color theory, and basic concepts, media, and techniques. This course will expose students to a variety of media and develop the skills for further art study. This course begins with an investigation in the visual language through close observation of the environment. Students will learn to utilize the elements and principles art and design in their own work.
Textbooks: Several books, magazines and online sources will be used as visual resources introduced during class and will be provided for homework and research. No purchase required (though if damage or loss of school property occurs, reimbursement would be required).

GRADING The grading scale for art class follows the standard Eagle Ridge Academy scale:
93%-100% = A 73%-76% = C
90%-92% = A- 70%-72% = C-
87%-89% = B+ 67%-69% = D+
83%-86% = B 63%-66% = D
80%-82% = B- 60%-62% = D-
77%-79% = C+ 59% and lower = F
Grades will be weighted based on the following categories:
